Rates & Number of Travelers - All of the trips listed in this website are designed to run with a minimum of 3 birders and a maximum of 6 birders. If less than three birders a small supplement will be charged. These limitations have been established to ensure the quality of your birding experience.
Another option is to reserve a private trip for your local bird group or birding pals. Private trips are designed to run with a minimum of 6 birders and a maximum of 8 birders. A trip leader is required & responsible to collect and make one combined payment for all participants. A 5% discount per person will be offered for private trips.
The rates listed in the trip details are priced based on double occupancy, each room will have a private bath. However, a single occupancy rate may be requested.
Payment Procedure -
Payments: A deposit of $200 per person will be due to register for a trip and/or to begin the personal planning process. The balance will be due in our account 60 days prior to arrival. If registrations are made with less than 60 days prior to arrival, full payment will be due at time of booking.

For the balance funds should be wired directly to our bank in Costa Rica ; this is quicker and especially useful for those making late reservations. Please contact us for the wiring information. Due to the fact that there are excessive surcharges on accepting credit card payments in Costa Rica we do not use this method of payment.
Terms & Conditions Cancellations: Costa Rica Birding Journeys must be notified in writing of any cancellations. Cancellation charges are as follows: 60 days or more prior to arrival a $100/person processing fee will be charged. Less than 60 days prior to arrival all monies will be forfeited. No refunds will be made if you leave the trip for any reason, whether voluntary or involuntary. No refunds will be made for services not utilized. If the participant arranges for an acceptable substitute to fill the slot, a full refund less deposit will be refunded. Important Note: For your convenience we always recommend to buy travel insurance for this purpose.
Costa Rica Birding Journeys acts as an agent for guides, lodging, transportation companies and other contractors and shall not be held responsible for any injury, death, loss, delay or issue that may occur including but not limited to the following; any defect in a vehicle or any other form of transportation, the acts or default of any company or person engaged with a traveler, acts of god, detention, delays or expenses arising from theft, force, strike, civil disturbance, government restriction, accident by aircraft, boat, bicycle, motor vehicle or any other form of transport or in any hotel or other form of accommodation.
Deposit payment is taken as acknowledgement and agreement of the above items. |
